LOS ANGELES, CA-- Mar 29, 2009 – The Hollywood based performance troupe, Cherry Kiss Burlesque has been wowing the City of Angels with their eclectic brand of sexy, funny, edgy, and though-provokingly creative burlesque for the past four years. Founders Crystal Swarovski and Polly Peabody, with more then fifteen years of combined experience between them, have performed at venues around the world, proving themselves masters of the form, from classic glamour, to politically incorrect parody. And in Prague, Czech Republic, beginning on Friday May 20th, 2009, they will take to the stage with their latest production “KUBRILESQUE” an all girl burlesque homage to the late, great director Stanley Kubrick. The show, featuring the burlesque styling of Scarlet Letter, Nancy Sin Ultra, Dolly Danger, Bioloxi Brown, Olivia Bellafontaine, as well as Swarovski and Peabody, showcases twelve of Kubrick’s films: Killer's Kiss, The Killing, Paths of Glory, Spartacus, Lolita, Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, and Eyes Wide Shut. The show’s concept is a series of fully choreographed, and brilliantly costumed acts interpreting each movie chronologically in unique ways that range from the literal, to the sexual, to the highly figurative. The show is a fun, musical, fast-paced, and slightly naughty tribute to a remarkable and universally familiar body of work. Tassels twirl and feathers fly in this fifty-minute whirlwind tour through cinema’s most iconic films, those of Stanley K. Fringe Festival Praha, is just the first stop on a European Tour for the ladies of Cherry Kiss. After their run in Prague they head to Bremen, Germany to perform at the legendary Queen Calvera Burlesque Club (June 5th and 6th, 2009). Followed by stops in Berlin, then Metz, France for a show at Emile Vache (June 10th , 2009), Paris, and Amsterdam for The Clinic Weekend (June 12th and 13th, 2009), The Burlesque Freak-Out Festival, Amsterdam (June 26th and 27th, 2009), Boudoir Bizarre, Amsterdam (July 4th, 2009) and finally Torture Garden in London (July 11th, 2009.)
