The granddaddy of Czech festivals takes place this year, as usual, at the track & field stadium in Česky Brod, around 45 kilometers east of Prague. Now in its 12th year, the 2006 Rock For People festival features more than 200 acts, among them Manu Chao, Fun Lovin' Criminals and Agnostic Front.

The Czech Republic's largest world music festival, held in the Černá louka fairgrounds, in the heart of the country's third largest city. Recently named the "Best Music Event of the Year" at the Czech equivalent of the Grammy awards, Colours of Ostrava's fifth edition features Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant and African superstar Salif Keita.

This Brno-based multi-genre open-air festival will for the first time be held over two days in 2006. Confirmed live acts include Kosheen and Morcheeba singer Skye. There'll also be DJs, Czech theatre, a bike exhibition, a firework display, and a wide range of recreational activities.
