Voting has now closed.

This month, we're looking for the most interesting places within easy reach of Prague.

If you had guests in town, and you could get out of the city for just one day, where would you take them?

While Karlštejn is a popular choice with tour groups, we think there are some far more exciting options.

There's Kutná hora, for instance, with its macabre bone church and magnificent cathedral, or Průhonice's beautiful parks and gardens, or Svatý Jan pod Skalou's spectacular cliffs.

For castle aficionados, Český Šternberk, Konopiště and Křívoklat are all also worth a trip, while wine lovers might choose Mělník, the historical center of Bohemia's small winegrowing region.

For a more active break, you could try swimming in the Malá Amerika or Velká Amerika quarries, while in winter snowboarding in Špindlerův Mlýn is also a possibility.

Fans of beach holidays, on the other hand, can head to Slapy dam - the closest Central Bohemia gets to a seaside resort.

And we're sure you'll have some suggestions of your own.

When you've made up your mind, email the names of up to three places to bestofprague@prague.tv in this format:

1. Marsh Mill
2. Poulton-le-Fylde
3. Stanah

(Your first choice will be awarded three points, your second choice awarded two points, and your third choice awarded one point; second- and third-choice selections are optional.)

That address again: bestofprague@prague.tv

Voting closes at 5pm on Wednesday, May 31st, 2006.

ABOUT BEST OF PRAGUE
Best of Prague is our ongoing quest to find the best the city (and sometimes the country) has to offer. At the start of each month, we look at a different Best of Prague category and invite readers to make their choice. The winner will be announced at the end of each month.
