The standard units of Czech currency are the koruna and the haleř, known in English as the crown and the heller.

One crown equals 100 hellers.

Koruna is abbreviated as Kč (Koruna česká) or CZK.

Haleř is sometimes shortened to hal or just h.

Czech banknotes are available in denominations of 20 crowns, 50 crowns, 100 crowns, 200 crowns, 500 crowns, 1,000 crowns, 2,000 crowns and 5,000 crowns.

Czech coins are available in denominations of 50 hellers, 1 crown, 2 crowns, 5 crowns, 10 crowns, 20 crowns and 50 crowns.

Following the break-up of Czechoslovakia, the old Czechoslovak money ceased to be legal tender in 1993, and Slovakia now has its own, entirely separate currency, also known as the koruna/crown.

For more information on Czech money, visit the Czech National Bank (Česká národní banka) website.
