Multisonic is organizing a competition to find the best remix of two songs by Věra Gondolan. The prize for the winner of the best remix contest - the recording of a vinyl disc in a professional studio - has a cash value of 100,000 CZK. Other prizes include tools for DJs (microphone and sample CDs) plus a CD compilation of the top 25 remixes. For the first time, Multisonic presents a DJ contest featuring a gypsy singer,. From February 1st, 2005 on the www.etnomix.com website (in English and Czech), two tracks from Věra Gondolan's latest CD will be available to DJs and musicians to download and remix. DJs have until the official closing date, April 20th, 2005, to remix the track and send a rough version of it, in MP3 format, to the competition address. Any DJ or musician can participate, simply by filling in the application form on the www.etnomix.com website. The best of the remixes, chosen by an expert jury, will be announced at a special event at a Prague club at the beginning of May. DJs have plenty of time (two months) to work on the remix (any type of music is allowed) and submit it to the competition address. Věra Gondolan is a very famous gypsy singer who comes from a family of musicians. The idea of the competition is to produce a hit for the summer of 2005, promoted and distributed by Multisonic record company in the Czech Republic and abroad. A final recording of the chosen remixes will be made in the Multisonic studios and pressed up as a vinyl record.
