Cinema City Novodvorská Closes

Prague 4’s Cinema City Novodvorská multiplex has closed down, reportedly as a result of “a declining market and customer dissatisfaction”.
It’s the first of the big Western-style movie theatres to go out of business, having only opened in March 2006.

Prague Public Drinking Ban

From today (July 7th), a new law comes into effect banning the drinking of alcohol in various public areas of Prague.
It is now no longer legal to drink alcohol within 100 meters (109 yards) of metro station entrances, schools, medical institutions, and children’s playgrounds.
