Prague City Beat

The coworking concept is coming to Prague, providing a space where freelancers can enjoy the benefits of an office environment rather than working alone.

Headed by Czech translator David Odstr?il, the Coffice organization will soon occupy office space on Vinohradská avenue, Prague 2, just off Nám?stí Ji?ího z Pod?brad.

Coffice also has the backing of PragueHub, a likeminded coworking project set up by expat IT/business consultant Dave Ruzius.

According to the PragueHub website:

The space we are about to finalise is on Vinohradska, 50m from JZP metro station, has space for about 10-15 people, is on the ground floor with a hall/social space, has 2 separate rooms (one for meeting room) and a larger open space room. There is even access to a garden!

The facilities that will be offered initially are 24hours access, comfortable desks/chairs, fast (6Mb) internet, printing/copy facilities, meeting room with projector, FREE COFFEE, TEA and WATER, a snack machine and personal storage.

The price for full-time (24 hours a day!) usage will be around 3,500 czk [per month] and there will be flexible plans for 2/3 days a week or ‘drop-in’ usage.

Like so many new ideas, the coworking concept originated in San Francisco but is starting to spread around the globe.

Odstr?il believes Coffice will be the Czech Republic’s first coworking space but is aware of a similar facililty, called Cocobar, in Wroc?aw, Poland.
