Expres Evenings in English moves to mornings...
In a bold and exciting step, Expresradio 90.3 FM has announced that starting Monday September 3rd, Expresradio will broadcast their morning drive from 0700 to 1000 in the English language.
After 4 years of hosting “Expres Evenings in English”, Robert Polo (a.k.a. Dr. Bob), a 25 year veteran of broadcasting, will bring his distinctive voice and style to the wider morning audience. When asked for his comments, Dr. Bob said “What? I have to wake up at 5 am? You must be crazy! No, seriously; since arriving in the Czech Republic in 1994 my biggest goal has been to broadcast the morning drive show on a great station here in the capitol city. Expresradio listeners and Czechs in general, are ready to hear the rhythm of English in the morning. I truly believe that in time we’ll grow together to create a very interesting blend of “Czenglish”… People can look forward to a cool, fun and bi-lingual show”.
Ondrej Sychrovsky, Director of MAFRA Media, Expresradio’s parent company, added “we feel that our listeners are cosmopolitan, intelligent people and will benefit and enjoy hearing English language on their way to work in the morning… They can even practice their English language skills, whether they’re getting ready for their day or stuck in traffic”.
Long time Czech Radio legend Roman Ondracek offered these words when asked about the concept of English in the morning: “My English is so good that I could teach this musical language at University of Berkley, but I have to admit that Bob speaks this language one level better than I do. Even moderators like me, a HALFGOD (POLOBUH), like to learn a bit from the others. I believe/hope that the listeners of Expresradio will welcome Robert with an open minds and open arms. I am really impressed that Expresradio is not too down to Earth and is coming up with such a new, original idea. To do a morning show in English is a bold step that includes a lot of patience!”
Join Dr. Bob every Monday through Friday from 7am until 10am for “Expres Drive”… “It’s not exactly “proper” English, but it is definitely Dr. Bob”!
