The Prague Burlesque Show starts its third season
A new show called Dames Of Porcelain premieres at Royal
The third season of the famous Prague Burlesque Show at the beautiful Royal Theatre in Vinohrady is about to begin. The show runs every Friday night, with doors opening at 8 pm and the show starting ay 9:30 pm. The new season starts Oct. 14.
In a short period of time, a wild group of artists has managed to turn Prague into a burlesque capital. Paris has its Crazy Horse and Lido. Other world capitals like London, Berlin and New York have long histories with the art of burlesque.
However, Prague for a long time lacked a good stage that could attract an international audience for burlesque. There is the National Theatre, of course, but it sets its goals in another direction and creates a different atmosphere. Royal, in a restored ornate theater from the 1920s filled with comfortable plush chairs and a full bar, is a much more fitting venue for burlesque.
Prague Burlesque has been successful for two years already, and is about to launch a new program. Dames Of Porcelain takes its inspiration from a well-known 1974 film called Holky z porcelánu by Slovak director Juraj Herz. In collaboration with leading Czech designers, this show becomes a work of fine-tuned perfection composed of very fragile components. Don't be a bull in a china shop, come and sit back, release your senses and go on a wild ride with no restrictions. But be careful! The ladies are (not) made of porcelain!
The main stars of the evening again will be Lady Mousellyca, Angelina Angelic, Miss Cool Cat and Sonny Vargas. Along with these will be the great Ritzy Dancers and a deranged footman. And there is an afterparty with a DJ.
Tickets range from seating at tables near the bar for the young and wild crowd, to standard seats with a good view, VIP tickets with table service and gold tickets with preferred seating and a half bottle of Champagne.
