Fringe Review: Dr. Brown (Mis)Behaves
Shame on Dr. Brown.
Dr. Brown Behaves Review
Shame on Dr. Brown. Like the class clown who invites you to prom only to prematurely ejaculate on your new dress, Dr. Brown Behaves truly takes “audience interactivity” to a whole new level. Yes, these two actors are cute. Yes, they’re mildly amusing. And yes, they look pretty good in their underwear. But such a trifecta of gifts does not a great Fringe show make. Something tells me that underneath the faux nerd-chic bravado of Dr. Brown and his bumbling “technician,” Brian, an intelligent and funny show exists—one that, hopefully, doesn’t simply expect the audience to swoon over what is more an exercise in accomplished manipulation than a full theatrical experience.
