Inside the twisted mind of Tim Burton
At the Tim Burton Exhibition
Tim Burton has long been one of film’s most eccentric and visionary directors, producers and writers. From his start as an animator and concept artist at Disney, Burton has produced and directed a string of hit movies in his distinctive style, and completely revolutionised the world of stop-motion animation.
From the 28th March until the 3rd August this year, an exhibition full of Burton’s works will be held at The House at the Stone Bell in the Old Town Square. Featuring hundreds of Burton’s original sketches, as well as puppets from his most famous films, and even screenings of his works- this exhibition is a must for any Tim Burton fan or film buff.
Throughout the two floors of exhibition space, there are hundreds of different sketches, paintings, photographs and sculptures to enjoy, all set to the background of music composed by a frequent collaborator of Burton’s, Danny Elfman. Including sketches from unrealised projects, his own personal sketchbook and character designs for his most famous characters, including Edward Scissorhands, Jack Skellington and Emily, the Corpse Bride, amongst many others- the exhibition itself gives an insight into Burton’s twisted mind, allowing visitors to examine many previously unseen pictures, personal letters and notes.
The Tim Burton exhibition in Prague runs until the 3rd of August, and is open every day except Mondays. Tickets are available from 10 – 20 and cost 190 CZK for a full admission ticket. More information can be found at www.timburton.cz.
