The Roxy calls up three rooms' worth of Czech DJing talent for a sci-fi themed epic.

For the second New Year's Eve running, Radost calls on the services of Chicago house legend Darryl "Love Can't Turn Around" Pandy. There'll also be free food and drinks, a strip show, a dance competition and a first chance to check out the club's new look.

After a two-year break, the aptly named Underground Garage party series returns, just in time for New Year's Eve. Held in an underground car park near the Rudolfinum, Silvestr Scream's two stages offer dancing until noon on New Year's Day. The venue is heated and food and drink will be available from a professionally run bar.

Silvestr/New Year's Eve (Akropolis)
Akropolis fires up the multicultural melting pot this New Year's Eve, mixing up bhangra, Asian underground, dancehall reggae, nu-jazz and Latin grooves. Among the main ingredients is an Eastern-flavored set from Transglobal Underground DJ Mantu, featuring Oriental dancer Isis K.

A New Year's Eve for the rest of us, bucking the trend toward rising entry fees: For a modest cover charge, there's a welcome drink, Olmeca tequila competition prizes and a farewell set from "the conscience of pop music," DJ Vlad. A special three-course Optimism Menu is also available, for 450 Kč.

Año Nuevo (La Casa Blů)
The Czecho-Latin café-bar offers New Year's Eve with a South American flavor. The 990 Kč sitdown meal includes a welcome Mojito, a traditional three-course Czech meal, a small bottle of champagne and an after-midnight serving of Peruvian Ceviche - fish marinated in lemon. Vegetarian options are also available. Space is limited to 60 places.

Hawaiian New Year's Eve
Beachwear in December? Hula girls in Prague? That's New Year's Eve at the Aloha Wave Lounge. With the blessings of Tiki, this new, Hawaiian themed bar promises a wild night full of tropical spirit, with DJs spinning lounge, soul, funk and pop. A buffet and a bottle of Sekt are included in the cover.

The Žižkov district's Matrix Klub offers a New Year's Eve celebration with a little more kick, booming out reggae, jungle and the sounds of the Asian underground right through until dawn.

Hip Hop Silvestr Nite 2004
For the second year, Czech hip-hop bible BBaRáK magazine is throwing a major New Year's Eve party at Abaton. As well as two stages of DJs, there'll also be a cinema screening, in the promoters' words, "just rubbish," plus decorations, foosball, and oriental and vegetarian cuisine. All tickets will entered into a prize draw.
