In July Prague is going to be flooded with young footballers
The sixth year of the football CEE Cup will see 250 players from eight countires including Germany, Brazil and China
Spectators can look forward to terrific football performances guaranteed by teams of the best youth players from all over the world. Last year's defending champion AC Sparta Praha will be joined by two other Czech teams, rivals SK Slavia Praha and Bohemians 1905. Foreign teams taking part in the tournament include Bosnian team FK Sarajevo, Macedonian team FC Academy Pandev, Hungarian teams VASAS FC Budapest and ETO FC Györ, Slovakian team AS Trencin and German club RB Leipzig. Further there will be two Brazilian teams — Associação Atlética Ponte Preta and last year's finalist Fluminese FC. Asia will be represented by Chinese team Beijing Renhe FC.
"More and more clubs are interested in this tournament. We make our selection from the offers very carefully. Our aim is to maintain the tradition of this Central European football clash but at the same time we want to diversify it by performances of top non-European teams. This allows the youth players to experience various football styles from the whole world," said Roberto De Blasio, Chairman of the GENERALI CEE CUP Organizing Committee.
GENERALI CEE CUP is a tournament for the upcoming generation of young, talented and ambitious players with great potential. We saw some amazing football talents at this tournament in the past. The quality of footballers in last year's GENERALI CEE CUP was exceptional. That could be seen directly at the tournament but was also proved later on by the career progression of those players. For example, Matej Pulkrab, the best player of last year's tournament representing AC Sparta Praha, has had the chance to make his way through the top Czech football league wearing the kit of Slovan Liberec. He scored four times and got among the top three players of the Czech Premier League in May. Ayrton Lucas Dantas de Medeiros, a Fluminense FC's defender, played his premiere match in A-team in the top Brazilian league in front of 40,000 spectators.
"We are delighted to see that young men participating in our tournament gradually make their mark on a professional level. We keep our fingers crossed that they are successful and avoid injuries," said Roberto de Blasio, chairman of the GENERALI CEE CUP Organizing Committee.
It's not just the level of football performances at the tournament that is important to the organizers. Youth development and helping others is an inevitable part of the tournament philosophy. Therefore, the money collected during the grand finale day will be donated again to the charity UNICEF, which will use the funds to support children in Ukraine's war zones.
Thanks to cooperation between the organizers and the Instat company, the sixth year of the prestigious football GENERALI CEE CUP will be enriched by interesting football statistics. Instat will prepare a complete statistical report and detailed analysis of each match. This processed data will be available not only to players and coaches but also to the press and public as a part of the evening summary of each day.
