Hackers Congress to meet in Prague
This September, Paralelni Polis 2016 will bring world cryptoanarchy leaders to Holešovice
Paralelni Polis, a nonprofit organization based in Prague, is holding its third annual Hackers Congress HCPP16 from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2nd at Paralelni Polis, a bitcoin area in Holešovice. This year, the three-day conference will host with more than 40 mostly foreign speakers — leaders from the areas of technology, decentralized economy, political art and activism. Lecture topics will include hacking, cryptocurrencies, science, freedom and cryptoanarchy.
The Hackers Congress will offer three days of lectures, debates and workshops and will connect hundreds of technology enthusiasts, libertarians and innovators from around the world. Together, they will celebrate the new era of freedom and decentralization. “The congress will be an electrifying experience and meeting point for more than 500 people from technology professionals, political activists to artists who are equally ideologically oriented,” says organizer Martin Sip, a cryptocurrencies expert from Paralelni Polis. Tickets for the three-day event are available for 1,490 CZK at the Paralelni Polis e-shop. You can purchase them with bitcoins only or with a PayPal account. The congress will be held in English.
This year’s headliner is Andreas Antonopoulos, a world-renowned bitcoin guru and expert in the field of IT security. Other outstanding speakers are, for example, the main developer of the first decentralized marketplace OpenBazaar, Sam Peterson; the founding member of Cypherphunks and author of cryptoanarchistic manifest, Timothy C. May (via Skype); and the famous American writer Paul Rosenberg. More speakers are to be found online on www.hcpp.cz. The organizers also invited Smuggler and Frank Braun, two so-called “privacy extremists” who are extremely protective of their privacy, so their faces will be hidden behind masks when speaking.
Paralelni Polis is a project by the art group Ztohoven who will host also rich cultural program, including movie premieres and a drone race organized by the partner of the event, Ultrahack, which is Europe's the largest association organizing hackathons. A fashion show of 3D printers’ clothes will be held on Saturday.
Core topics of the congress
- Political Art & Hacking
- Decentralized Economy & Cryptocurrencies
- Science & technology
- Freedom & Cryptoanarchy
Paralelni Polis is 100 percent state free project based on voluntary contributions of our members and donors. The founding members are people from Czech contemporary art group Ztohoven and from Czech and Slovak hackerspaces. The main reason this unique freedom think tank was founded is to promote and celebrate digital freedom, cryptocurrencies, anonymization networks and free markets.
