Summer Fun @ Prague British School
What to do with the kids during summer?
So another school year is almost over, and the long, hopefully sun filled, summer holidays are soon upon us. Great for the kids and teachers, but perhaps something of a challenge for the parents left to provide a stimulating programme for their children for the ensuing nine weeks!
Well at least at PBS they have part of the answer to the perennial question: what to do with the kids during summer?
Their Summer Fun programme offers a fun, safe and stimulating environment for children to spend two weeks of the summer holidays. Now in its second year the programme offers a diverse schedule of activities and day excursions for 4 - 11 year olds in an English speaking environment. The carefully prepared programme, led by experienced teaching professionals caters for all ages, abilities and interests.
Based at the PBS site at Kamýk in Prague 4, the programme ensures that the children spend as much time as possible outside. A typical day at Summer Fun might include a trip to the fantastic nature around Prague, such as Koněprusy Caves or carting in Stromovka Park, and then some team based games back at school such as capture the flag and other popular sports like floorball, football and dodgeball.
The children with a creative flair also get a chance to develop their skills with regular design challenges such as creating their own superhero costumes or designing and constructing model planes to fly.
Day excursions provide the opportunity for the children to explore places further out of Prague. Last year these included a walk and train ride along the Sazava river, hiking in Prachovské Skaly and a day trip to the children's adventure playground Mirakulum.
With so much going on, Summer Fun @ PBS helps to ensure that your children are kept busy having fun, exploring the world around them and making new friends. Summer Fun is open to all families in Prague and offers an ideal opportunity for Czech native speakers to improve their English whilst having fun in a truly international environment.
