The Prague Congress Center will host the world famous non-traditional dance group Stomp from Thursday, March 16 until Sunday, March 21. Stomp, a unique combination of percussion, movement and visual comedy, was created in Brighton in summer 1991, as the result of a 10-year collaboration between its creators, Steve McNicholas and Luke Creswell. The term refers to a specific sub-genre of physical theatre where the body is incorporated with other objects as a means of producing percussion and movement, echoing tribal dance. An expanded version of Stomp was originally created for the Brighton Festival. The group subsequently broke Frank Sinatra's box office record at the Royal Festival Hall in London, which had been set in 1972. They have since also featured in a number of commercials, including Coca-Cola, numerous spots for Target stores in the US, Toyota in Japan, and Seat in Europe. Stomp's other appearances include the Academy Awards, the Emmys, Good Morning America, The Today Show, CBS Sunday Morning, Mad About You, Letterman, Leno, Conan, Ellen, Roseanne, and Sesame Street's Let's Make Music with the Muppets and many more. After their phenomenal success in Prague in 2008 -- more than 10,000 people attended their Congress Center shows -- the unique musical and dance group returns to amaze and entertain their fans yet again.
