Adam Freeland returns to Abaton, Friday 27th, at a special dance-meets-rock "Heavy Metal Edition" party.
While Freeland, fellow Brit Hyper, and local DJs Josef Sedloň and Kaplick rock the house with breakbeat, there'll also be a live set from the Czech metal band Törr.
Although there may be a touch of irony to this party, Freeland is no stranger to mixing genres, having helped pioneer nu-school breaks, a combination of house music and funky breakbeats.
DJing in London, he increasingly began to drop electro, hip-hop and even world music breakbeats into his deep house sets, creating an exciting new fusion of styles.
His reputation was sealed with 1996's seminal Coastal Breaks compilation, while work with Kevin Beber on the Tsunami One project further raised his profile.
Two years later, the Brighton-based Freeland set up the much-respected Marine Parade label, which he continues to run today.
Adam has also formed a six-man group, known simply as Freeland, that fuses breakbeat and rock.
The group had a big UK hit with We Want Your Soul in 2003, and followed it up in 2005 with their debut album, Now And Them.
