Fanfare Ciocărlia returns to Palác Akropolis on Monday, February 15 for another concert in the Respect Plus world music series. Billing themselves as the fastest brass band in the world, the Romanian ensemble were winners at BBC Radio 3's Awards for World Music in 2006 and their blend of Romany, Turkish, Romanian and Klezmer influences featured on the Borat soundtrack. Fanfare Ciocărlia is currently promoting a live CD/DVD, simply entitled Fanfare Ciocărlia Live, and a vinyl-only compilation called Best of Gypsy Brass.
