Entrance is free and tickets aren't required for this historic event, but the US Embassy in Prague is advising spectators to arrive early because of the relatively small size of the square and the large numbers of people expected. (The square will be closed to the public until 7am, however.) With Prague Castle closed, access to Hradčanské náměstí, the square by the castle's main entrance, is possible via Loretánská street and Kanovnická street: View Larger Map The nearest tram stops are Brusnice and Pohořelec, both of which are served by the 22 and the 23. The US Embassy has also produced a list of prohibited items, which includes bags, signs and banners: • Firearms • Ammunition • Explosives • Weapons of any kind • Aerosols • Supports for signs • Packages • Coolers • Thermal or glass containers • Backpacks • Umbrellas • Laser pointers • Animals other than helper/guide dogs • Structures • Bicycles • Any other items determined to be a potential safety hazard The embassy also warns would-be spectators that prohibited items surrendered at the gates to Hradčanské náměstí will not be returned when the speech finishes. In his speech, Obama is expected to focus on foreign policy, touching on the need for closer relations between the USA and Europe and the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
