Parno Graszt return to Prague on Friday, February 10, for a show at Palác Akropolis.

The nine-piece band plays traditional Romany (Gypsy) music, taken from their native Hungary and across the border in Romania, plus some original material.

Subscribing to the philosophy that "there is no band, there is no audience," Parno Graszt ("White Horse") shows are typically riotous affairs, with four members of the band doubling up as dancers.

Along with acoustic guitars, double bass, tambura and spoons, the group's line-up features "stereo watering can" and "oral bass," improvised by the band's percussionist, and also draws upon cimbalom, accordion, violins and taragot.

The band’s most recent album, Reggelig mulatok (Don’t Stop Till the Break of Dawn), was released last year (2011).
