stay away from Vecar car rental!

Just want to warn everybody who plan to travel to Czech - stay away from Vecar car rental! They seem to have nice web site and prices...

BUT! The cars they are renting all have way over 100,000 miles on them. And they are not aware of service and curtesy.

My wife's car broke (clutch) within first two hours of driving. And then they refused to change, cancel or in any way take responsibility for that.
They were rude, swore in the presence of children and claimed that they will "get their money from the credit card anyway".

God. I wish i had read this post before hand. In 2 years they have not got any better then. I aranged a car for the bank holiday friday to drive down to my OWN wedding in Krumlov. After double checking with them that it was all ok and fine to pick up that day, we arrived to find the whole place closed. The wife nearly had a fit. In the end we went to Alimex who we normally use and they were very professional as always.

Just to summarise - NEVER USE THIS USELESS COMPANY!

They lie, they scam, that are the pits!! I know from bitter experience from them.

Cannot believe that *sshole at expats.cz still recommends them.

STAY AWAY FROM VECAR RENT A CAR, PRAGUE!

We also have a horrible experience with this company!

On the website http://www.vecar.cz/ I found a rent-a-car company VECAR and I wanted to do business with them. We agreed about the rental dates, rental conditions and the price of the rent.
When my partner and I arrived we were surprised with the VECAR company. It was a very dirty place. It didn't look like a professional company as presented on their website. It is actually a home. An older man and an older woman didn't look like professional representatives of an official company and we experienced that they also started to behave to my partner and me on not appropriate and professional way.

First, they started to doubt on the official Dutch documents of my partner. They claimed that the documents should be false. We suggested to instantly contact the Dutch Embassy in Prague and to check the documents. They went in some other room and we didn't see them anymore.

Second, a younger man showed up and started to talk to us about the other price and conditions. He suggested that we should register me us a 2nd driver. This already changes the price and conditions. This was also not part of our agreement.

We realized that they were changing the conditions and the price. At that point we experience huge lack of integrity and not professional behavior of all VECAR representatives all the time during our stay there. So we decided to leave the place.

The facts are:
•We came to do a business transaction with VECAR under agreed conditions.
•VECAR representatives created problems which they were not able to solve.
•The agreed transactions didn't take place.
•My partner and I lost time and money. We were unable to realize our plans on that day and we had to find another solutions for the problems created by the VECAR representatives.

Sorry to hear about your car troubles. That was not good customer service, and I will not be surprised to hear that a company such as this went out-of-business within weeks. I do not know why some companies forget that the way to success in any business is good customer service.
