Description from Prague TV

A short walk from Old Town Square, La Provence offers gourmands two great French restaurants under one roof - a Provencal-style restaurant downstairs and an atmospheric Parisian-style brasserie on the ground floor.

As its name suggests, the lower level offers the deceptively simple specialties of southeastern France, prepared using the finest, freshest ingredients, in surroundings evoking the atmosphere of a traditional Provencal village.

Befitting a cuisine developed along the shores of the Mediterranean, seafood plays a big on the La Provence Restaurant menu. Along with the regional specialty bouillabaisse (fish soup), lobster, tiger prawn, and fresh oysters are all on offer, along with many other fish dishes.

The menu also features many other Provencal specialties. The classic meat dishes, inevitably, include foie gras and a range of delectable casseroles while vegetarian options include quiche and grilled vegetables.

For less leisurely dining, the upper-level brasserie perfectly captures the atmosphere of a bustling Paris café, serving an equally authentic range of French food and wines.

Using an existing Parisian brasserie as a reference point, the upstairs interiors incorporate mirrors, mosaics and other authentic art nouveau elements, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere perfectly suited to bon viveurs.

Because of its separate levels, La Provence is extremely flexible for groups. Together, both levels can seat up to 215 diners or as many as 350 standing guests. For smaller functions, the restaurant's three rooms can all be booked separately, as can the brasserie.
