Hidden away on a small side street in Prague's Malá Strana, Artisan Restaurant & Cafe offers fine international cuisine, house made breads and pastas, quality boutique wines, and rich desserts, as well as great service and ambiance.
Our experienced chefs prepare creative dishes from the best of ingredients. We hope you find our dishes to be skillfully composed of simple yet elegant flavors. We believe in letting quality and proper preparation speak for themselves. We make our own pastas, stocks, sauces, and desserts reflecting our respect for craft and tradition in the preparation of food. Our menu will change seasonally. Whenever possible we source fresh, locally produced ingredients for our menu.
We present a small selection of fine boutique wines which you won't see commonly available elsewhere.
We can host parties of up to 60 seated or 100 standing. In the warm months we also have garden seating which can accommodate up to 30 additional guests.

A group of us recently went to this newly opened restaurant in Prague 5 and must say all were very satisfied. The location, albeit well hidden on a sub-street that noone knows about, is very central and easy to get to (22 tram to Ujezd).
The interior is warm, inviting and very knew with an atmosphere ideal for couples or close friends wanting to experience some delicious cuisine.
The fare is fair in price and all the starters are delicious. The portobello mushroom dish I think took the prize with the group although the lobster rangoon was a close second.
As for mains, well I am a beef man and their filet mignon, aged Uruguyan beef barely cooked to a bloody rare, was absolutely one of the best steaks I have had in this city. It is the most expensive on the menu at 425 czk, but well worth it.
Other mains to mention were the scallops, jerked chicken and the sea bass.
The wines were also very good and not overly expensive, although I did comment to the waiter that perhaps in the future they should offer some lower end local wines which are good yet fit to the budget of those wanting several bottles.
Regardless, the experience was fantastic as was the food, service and atmosphere.
This will be a repeat visit for sure.
Maybe check them out for New Years as i hear they are having a special dinner offer.
