The Executive MBA program, launched in Pittsburgh in 1972, is the second oldest in the world, but still one of the most innovative. With an established presence in the CEE region for more than 22 years, the EMBA Worldwide has enhanced careers, transformed companies and industries. It is a comprehensive and transformational experience that equips business professionals with the skills, confidence and contacts necessary to bring their business to the next level, to innovate and to deliver superior results in an increasingly competitive world.
The 16-month program, which is aimed specifically at upper management and executives, develops the broad perspective required of company leaders today. The program is taught in English by experienced Professors from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. Graduates receive the same AACSB-accredited Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree as if they attended classes in Pittsburgh.
The EMBA Worldwide program takes place on three different continents - with sites in North America (Pittsburgh, PA), South America (São Paulo, Brazil), and Europe (Prague, Czech Republic). Students in Europe will take most modules in Prague; however, they also participate in three week-long immersion sessions, called Global Executive Forums, with their EMBA Worldwide classmates in Prague, São Paulo and Pittsburgh. These Global Executive Forums allow all of our Worldwide EMBA students to study and network together for 25 percent of the required curriculum. This provides ample opportunity to develop lasting friendships with other experienced and successful EMBA students from North America, South America, Europe and beyond.
Katz’s School of Business EMBA program has many benefits, including:
• It is ranked as the top EMBA program in Central Europe, No. 41 worldwide by the Financial Times in 2011 (see the rankings) and 5th in the world for “Aims Achieved.”
• Class schedule designed to allow you to balance work and family life or travel to Prague from around the region, to attend classes by using as little as 3 business days per month. Modules are taught from Wednesday to Sunday, once a month, for 16 months. (See the Prague EMBA Schedule 2012-2013)
• Professors from all over the world are flown in to Prague to deliver courses. World-class experts in their fields, combining academic excellence with practical experience, they ensure that you receive the highest quality education possible with the University of Pittsburgh.
• All materials and books used are same at all locations. You receive the same education, curriculum, Professors and degree as if you studied directly in Pittsburgh.
• Learning focused on sharpening of strategic-thinking skills and broad-view development required of leaders.
• Learning methods suitable for executives with emphasis on discussion, case analyses, team projects, group work, computer simulations, and personal skills workshops.
• The curriculum includes a carefully selected mix of core courses and electives. This allows you to focus on specific areas in finance, marketing, operations, entrepreneurship, strategic leadership, etc.
• Class composition representing a unique mix of executives and entrepreneurs with 14 years of average professional experience ensuring a powerful share-experience learning.
• A network of more than 500 executive MBA alumni in Europe and over 26,000 in the world. The EMBA Program provides for powerful networking possibilities with Executives from around the world and opens doors to new business opportunities.
• The return on your investment begins immediately. Many of our students comment on how they attend classes from Wednesday to Sunday, and upon returning to work on Monday morning they are ready to implement changes and make better decisions. Invaluable return on your investment in form of increased confidence and of course, a stronger basis for promotions and salary increases.
• Mentoring program – a professional and career development program involving alumni, members of our Executive Board of Advisors and Katz professors who provide personalized career and professional support to our students.
• In essence the EMBA program is much more than just 16 months of classes. We are building long-term experiences for our students and alumni to benefit from for the rest of their lives.
• The investment required is 48,500 USD and covers tuition, fees, books, software, etc., except for travel expenses. Scholarships and other financing options are available for qualified applicants. See our tuition fees and financing options.
