Description from Kino Aero

Kino AERO is the biggest art house cinema in the Czech republic. It specializes in promoting European film, but a good portion of its programming is dedicated to non-European art film as well. Every month Kino AERO organizes retrospective of some great filmmaker (Andrej Tarkovskij, Peter Greenaway, Ingmar Bergman, David Lynch, Jim Jarmusch, Wim Wenders etc.). Some of the filmmakers personally attended screenings of their film and participated in the Q&A sessions (Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, Agnieszka Holland, Tony Gattlif and many others). Kino AERO became well known venue where mostly young people of different taste meet and use the cinema as a communication platform for exchanging of their experiences with films and art. Among the one screen cinema hall with 336 seats Kino AERO also consists of bar and photo gallery, which is situated in the entrance hallway. Occasionally live music and theatre performances take places under the Kino AERO roof. Such events are usually connected to film screenings and work as a „value added“ to the cinema’s regular programming. Kino AERO and its pilots will do its best to keep promoting films that are not always given sufficient attention from commercial distributors and must fight hard for its space in the market corner.
