Description from Palác Akropolis
THE AKROPOLIS PALACE - A SPACE WITH MANY FACES THEATRE Once reborn, the AKROPOLIS PALACE demonstrated its new activity as a stage and creative setting for an association comprised of actors, dancers, filmmakers, choreographers and visual artists. Over the past six years, dozens of successful theatre productions have been held at the theatre and a number of original TV shows have been shot here (e.g. concerts, fashion shows, social evenings). MUSIC Due to the vigorous efforts and vision of its founders', the AKROPOLIS PALACE has become the home of several cultural forms all backed by a high-level promotion, presentation and technical setting. The increased quality and frequency of concerts, together with the fact that the AKROPOLIS PALACE has become known as the leading Prague scene for world and ethnic music has also led to a transformation of its audience. Gone are the days when only a few dozen informed enthusiasts were the only audience; today, hundreds of people of all age groups come to show their interest in the music from Africa, Asia, Australia and other continents. The audience of the AKROPOLIS PALACE is very cosmopolitan, and the evenings organised in the framework of the "UNITED COLOURS OF AKROPOLIS" or "EuroConnections" cycles are a favourite stop for the representatives of foreign Embassies in Prague, or business and professional residents of Prague of foreign origin. Thanks to its unique position within the aforementioned music genre and the growing interest of the public, but also to the increasing support of the Prague 3 District Town Hall and the Town Hall of Prague, the AP is being approached with ever more attractive offers. This obviously leads to a increasing need for financial support.
