Just two weeks ago one of my friends was raving about the restaurant so we decided to give it a go. Now it's my turn to rave. The atmosphere is dark and intimate yet modern and spacious. Dominant colours are shades of red and brown and the furniture is wooden and heavy. It also features an open kitchen so you can see your food being prepared. The staff was a little confused at the entrance. The waiter who showed us is took us to our table only to realize that it has not been prepared yet, so he led us to a bar-type seating area next to the restaurant section for a drink. He gave us two menus. 10 seconds later another lady with more menus showed up, closely followed by another lady who took our coats and almost immediately followed by the man who showed us in as the table was ready. Very eager, but also very confused. The waiter we had for the rest of the evening was just brilliant. I have to say perhaps the best service I’ve had in Prague for years. He is very helpful, attentive, spoke fluent Czech and English, always there when you needed him, but not intrusive at all. Very impressive indeed. We chose 4 dishes on the menu and while we had our own personal favorites, all the dishes were great. The style of food could be compared to NOI, but the quality is much better. Lovely combinations of flavors, fresh ingredients, great presentation, reasonable sizes. I think the 4 dishes were just right for 2 people. Three of them were smallish-medium sized appetizers and one was a main course. We shared a banana loti for dessert; it was very sweet and rich, but incredibly tasty. Needless to say, this place is not cheap. The wine selection is not extensive and it starts at 400 CZK a bottle. Long drinks are also fairly pricy, which is to be expected in a restaurant of this sort. The individual dishes range between 100-400 CZK. I think it must be more expensive then NOI, but it is well worth it. I’d be more than happy to go again someday.
