Based in Prague but with members drawn from several different countries, CCTV Allstars play an energetic blend of ska, folk, reggae and rock.

As of September 2011, the band's unusual line-up saw English singer/guitarist Eddy Allen backed by Czech trombonist Štěpán Janoušek, American trumpeter Tom Levecchia, Mexican drummer Omar Rojas, Swedish bassist Fredrik Janacek, British DJ Don't Panic and tap-dancing percussionist Carli Jefferson.

According to their MySpace page, the CCTV Allstars' choice of name refers to the belief that "everyone is a star, due to certain control behind closed doors" -- CCTV standing for closed-circuit television.

The band released their debut album, Just a Word, in 2009.

CCTV Allstars's most recent single, Silly Little Single, was due to be released on September 22, 2011.
