Based around British singer Rebecca Elliott and American bassist Mike Bowling, Freak Parade play beefy-but-melodic alternative rock.

Dating back to 1993, the band was formed at Liberec's technical university, where Elliott and Bowling were both teaching.

In their first incarnation, the band gigged extensively, supporting the likes of Babes in Toyland and A Subtle Plague, and recorded an album, I Don't Think So, for Indies Records in 1996.

Following I Don't Think So's release, Bowling moved back to the USA, putting Freak Parade on hold, but the band was reformed in 1998, when he returned to the Czech Republic, later releasing a follow-up album, 2003's Future Shock, on Slow Motion Records.

The band's third album, All Lovers Are Traitors was released in 2009, also on Slow Motion Records.

As of April 2009, the Freak Parade line-up also featured American Travis Crow on lead guitar, Dutchman Paul "Chilly" Gebuis on rhythm guitar and Liberec-born Jan "Honza" Horváth on drums.

Elliot also sings with the Prague band B-Movie Heroes.
