Now based in Prague, Son Caliente are originally from Cuba and play the music of their homeland.

Featuring several veterans of the Havana circuit, the band relocated to the Czech Republic in 2005, and have worked relentlessly since then, earning regular slots at several Prague clubs.

As of August 2008, Son Caliente's members were Pedro Argelio Guevara Torres (vocals, percussion), Mario Herrera Marsillan (vocals, guiro), Amador Julian Hernandez Ordonez (bass), Manuel Guara Colas (trumpet, percussion, vocals), Stefano Antonio de Paula (piano), Michal "Mikikonga" Bolčo (conga, percussion), and Tony "Tony B" Benedek (timbales, percussion).
