Never been before and really excited, can anyone suggest some great places to visit and eat which are not overly touristy and expensive? thank you

Well, you found this excellent & informative website. Why don't you spend some time looking around it and answering your own questions?

Haje is neither touristy nor expensive. If you want to see a place which is home to many Czech people (and a lot of Vietnamese expats) you should take the metro there and walk about for a few minutes. There is a traditional "Multiplex"-style cinema near the metro station where a lot of Czech teenagers hang out.

I'm not sure if you like Balkan food but check out this place, I went there with my husband to celebrate some of our anniversaries, and they have a little private room for 2 with funky romantic decorations http://prague.tv/prague/dining/restaurants-mediterranean/git anes
Really nice food too!!! A little pricey, though ..(about 70 Euro for 2, appetizer, main course, drinks, wine - 1 or 2 bottles)

I would also recommend to walk in Letna park, great view of the city, fantastic bear and you can step by this restaurant, not expensive, good food, friendly atmosphere (expat and Czech community) http://prague.tv/prague/dining/restaurants-international/fra ktal-2

Tricky to say how the weather is going to be, but try going to Cesky Krumlov for a weekend, its a fantastic little town and ideal for honeymoon getaway. April will not be so touristy.
