This is NOT a new policy and has been in effect for quite some time. Most airlines upgrade first by "Elite Level" and then based on fare levels. Obviously, someone paying full fare in coach will have an advantage over someone paying a "No Refund" fare.
If you can find another airline that flies the same routes and will upgrade you on a cheapie fare, by all means fly them. But, please let the rest of us know... personally, I ain't holding my breath! |

Air France do, they have a class that isnt 'business' ( I forget what they call it) but you get to sit behind the business class wan*kers, but the best bit is free entry to the Air France lounge at CDG which is a real blessing seeing as there is no goddam place to sit before you check in at CDG. Anyway, they upgrade you from a regular ticket.
As for CSA's new policy, it probably better than the previous one of allowing an upgrade dependant on the menstral state of the check-in female. I flew two or three legs a week for 2 years, gold card etc and rarely was upgraded. I once flew on a plane with only 3 other passengers, none of us were upgraded! You always got one when you least expected it or never even thought of asking. Such is life huh?
One time I paid 50,000kc yes 50k for a seat on my usual leg, being christmas and all they hiked the prices as usual. Upgraded? No fu*king way. I could be hear all day writing about CSA but I've moved on as has where I take my custom these days.
Anyway, I hate all those cheap suited types who think its their birthright to get an upgrade because they are wearing a suit and dont have any baggage to check. At least those clowns will have to slum it in economy where they can remember they are the same as the rest of those on board.
Good luck Nancy/Tom, maybe they'll compromise? |

they havnt changed their policy. This seems to be an issue at heathrow airport for some reason. If you read the rules on the ok plus site .. you'll see that only certain ticket types can upgrade now and not the cheapest tickets anymore such as class S.. I think theyve removed about 2 or 3 classes....
This happened to me also at heathrow even though my class of ticket was ok, they told me to complain at csa, which I did and they told me it should not have happened, and they have had several customers complaining about the same issue....
anyway, I emailed them also which was handed to customer care and awaiting response |

btw ... this is off the ok plus site, for those who would like to contribute something more constructive.
The following changes to OK Plus General Rules will come into effect on 1 July 2006:

I'm working as a marketing consultant for them. Just met the head of the FFP today coincidentally... too bad I didn't know about it. Would have told him to get his head out of his ass. All they are gonna do is piss off profitable customers. And there are no incremental costs to putting more people in business class if there is capacity. But there sure are costs to having people fly with other airlines if they think they won't get upgrades. |

today, csa sent me a letter of apology.. wtf .. shocked... they also gave me a bonus 2000 miles.... well that was nice, but I know its gonna happen again next week, since theyve done it 3 times already.
But im sure it's a mission of the air france staff at heathrow, just to piss people off ... |

I have a constant head ache getting my frequent flyer address to be changed to a new address and to stop sending me snail mail to the old address because they keep deducting 4 x 2000 miles every month for sending snail mail. For over a year, I am trying to resolved with Czech Airlines.
We moved to a new house, but the post keeps coming to the old address and 4 x 2000 miles deducted from my family's frequent flyer program. Those thick headed people at frequent flyer program won't change the address unless we go there in person with 100 proofs. We tried to change the address with CSA on the phone, but they keep insisting that we have to go to their office and I went with all the family's passport, Proof of address and all documentation and spent 1 hr in their office just to find out after a few months that they never made any changes and still keep deducting the 4 x 2000 miles. After a year I called their manager in Bucharest (where the problems is) and he asked me to send him an email. On August 2nd, 2011, I sent him an email with details and now its a month later and I heard nothing from them.
Who can help Czech Airlines to put some order in their frequent flyer program ? They started to become crooks now. Maybe someone should complain to consumer protection department. |
