I'm back now from Prague where my fiance and I had a fantastic time. We decided to give Gitanes a miss in the end as it wasn't too handy for where we were staying. We ended up going to Lehka - Hlava. This was by far and away the best place that we ate out at over the weekend - really good venue, lots of good food, very cheap and attentive service. There are also lots of good bars locally for drinks afterwards - definetly a good place for a romantic meal out! |

Hey guys,
Will be in the heart of Praque from the 11th to the 15th of May with a couple guy friends.
Can anyone recommend good places for 3 guys to go (no too romantic if possible) where the food is authentic for the region or close to it?
We're looking to try everything from the very best to budget off-the-beaten-path places. Also, we are adventerous eaters and welcome anything including kidneys, tripe, sweeet breads, any type of game etc etc.
thanks very much in advance

The Knights of Malta is an amazing, romantic, dark atmospheric place, and the food is orgasmic! |

We had a wonderful experience at the vegetarian restaurant Lehka Hlava (http://www.lehkahlava.cz). I highky recommend the carrot cake (we came back for more...). I highly recommend making reservations if you plan on going there after 6 PM.
Another wonderful typical Czeck restaurant with superb beer is Kolkovna, 8 Kolkovna St. The food is typical Czeck. We had Goulash served in a round loaf of bread and sourkrout pancakes with sausage which were greasy and wonderful and went well with the beer... At the end of the meal we could speek Czeck fluently...
Enjoy |

This is a way late post but for future reference, in addition to the above suggestions, "The Prague Post" has a dining guide. www.praguepost.com
No, I receive no money from them but have been a subsriber for years and a newstand purchaser even longer.

I just posted this in another thread but figured could be useful here too.
I went to L'ardoise the other night and it was great. Perfect for a dinner for 2 and the food and service was fantastic. You can find it on this site here http://prague.tv/best-restaurants/detail.php?id=7511
Their website is http://www.ardoise.cz/, it is not cheap, expect to spend around 2k for a full, all out meal, but definitely worth it if you are out to make a special night for your lady. |
