i am considering moving to Prague for a year in July...
i am currently on a prescription medication for anxiety (antidepressent... blah blah blah...)
i would like to stay on the meds because they actually work and help with a problem i have suffered with my whole life.

does anyone know how one might go about staying on their prescription meds...
should i look for a doctor in Prague? or some other option that i am not thinking of...
basically i am just looking for anyone with any experience that can give me some advice.

also... i have been looking for how to get health insurance, and several people recommended VZP CZ as an insurance provider, but i am having a hard time getting a budget (since the site is in Czech) idea on how much it will cost to get insurance for a year.

insurance will run you roughly 1000 kc a month

I believe you will have to see a doctor here to get a prescription but there are many good english speaking doctors who will see the diagnosis from your physician and simply issue you another one for here.

Hereis an article about finding english speaking doctors

Here is an article about getting health insurance with VZP

Hope this helps

Is it necessary to show any insurance card/ID when at the pharmacy getting the prescription meds?

Or is it straight forward enough just paying full price for script medicine?

Clifton, it's a bit more now at VZP.. depends on age but bout round 12-1400 per month..

And ANON:
Insurance card if you want to reimbursed by insurance company. ID not necessary..
