Hmm... It used to be easier to answer this question. Now the scene is more spread out...
Bars: Fraktal in Letna is one. Also try Roxy/NoD, Akropolis, m1, Blind eye, Nebe, Harley's, Zero ..
Cafes: Shakespeare and Sons, incognito, the Globe..
(all these are listed on the site ..) |

Akropolis...aahhhhhh...those were the great days when it first opened.
Almost brings a tear to my eye. Remember once HBO CZ held one of its Christmas parties there, back in the halycon days. |

Where is a good place to find expats living and working in Prague (not just passing through)or nearby locations looking for flat mates? |

Hey Saxecat, see the above list of places. Also for a flatmate try the classifieds section:

There's this really good podcast they've got now on expats.cz called knowledge or something like that. I've heard that the show guests usually tell some pretty interesting stories. I dunno, it's what I heard. -- G-Town |

Actually Adam, if you are running/organizing the podcast wouldn't you know EXACTLY what the name is?
Instead you write "There's this really good podcast they've got now on expats.cz called knowledge or something like that"
Funny, I never see anyone from Prague TV trying to plug their content on Expats site, maybe you guys should take an ad with Prague TV to get some new listeners? |

Hi guys. Staying in some dead hostel in Prague 2 called Budec. Everyone here seems boring as hell! Looking for the party hostels to meet other backpackers, Americans etc... Where are the best places to head for? CKS, you seem to know a lot about this. Help please! |

try going on a pub crawl at night. There are always backpackers doing that, and you'll be able to meet them more easily that way.
For party hostels, maybe try Travellers Hostel on Dlouha in Prague 1. They have a bar up on the top floor that usually has some action, and it's right next door to Roxy nightclub. |
