quality of Czech preschools in Prague

I'm American, husband is Dutch. We have 2 preschool age children. We would like our kids to have formal education which optimizes their multi-national background. We currently live over 2 hours from Prague and have become quite unhappy with our son's preschool in the village. (There are 3 teachers for 25 kids and they put them in front of the TV regularly!!!)

We are planning a move to Prague as soon as possible. We want to find the best possible school first, and then find housing.

It doesn't seem we can afford to send our 2 preschoolers to any of the great private schools in town. Has anyone had any luck with creative solutions to high tuition?

Does anyone have their non-Czech kids in Czech public schools? Does anyone here who can afford private schools choose public? Are there any alternative public schools? What are your experiences? Which ones to avoid/reccommend?
