I am looking to find a suitable apartment but what does 2+1 or 2+kk mean?

2+1 means 2 rooms and a separate kitchen room, or 3 full rooms total.

2+kk means that there is a kitchen as part of one of the other rooms, or a total of 2 actual rooms.

You should also look for mention of balcony or terrace, lift, etc.
