Greetings to all Prague TV users ...

We have now changed our system to only allow registered members to post to our forums and QA.

We have debated this move from our very beginnings over 5 years ago. Many of you have contributed to that discussion. After much review we have decided make this move.

Our intent all along was to provide the most user-friendly, helpful, and rich internet experience. Up to this point, we felt that not requiring registration fulfilled those goals. Now, due to various reasons (bogus posts by spamming outfits, forum 'trolls', too many useless anonymous posts, etc.) we feel it is time to change this policy.

We hope this moves enriches your Prague TV experience.

( As always, your privacy is of utmost importance to us. We will not share any of the details you provide.)

Users can still post to our Classifieds without registering.

Feedback is welcome and encouraged. Thanks for using Prague TV...

Jeff

Good move Jeff.

How about PTV admin sending a private warning to registered members who post under different names?

Hmm.. interesting point h2h.. that registered users can still 'hide' their identity. Probably the accountability (albeit minimal) of forcing the use your registered username would improve quality and lessen attacks.

Consider it under consideration. We'll decide shortly. Thanks for that!

One could indeed agree with the suggestion that the "PTV admin send a private warning to registered members who post under different names"

Gee pot, you're one to talk!

You might see a drop in the quantity of posts at first, but I think it is the right move. People have to register all over the internet these days. The quality of the forums will rise.

Ok, h2h: We have addressed that issue even more directly.

People can only post under their username. If they REALLY want to post under another name it will require a new account. Which as pot and friend kettle have pointed out, is not so difficult.

The original idea for allowing registered users to do it no longer has merit.

H2H:
Has it been a problem for you that registered members post under different names?
