Hi,

moving to prague end of september and wondering whther there are nice tennis clubs in prague (we will be living in vinohrady) and what golf courses you can recommend. Most coursres need you to pay entrance fees but waist of money if you are just staying 2/3 years, is there an alternative to that besides paying greenfees everytime?

thanks for your help

LG, where are you moving from? If you have a Green Card issued in the E.U. you can play any course. But, where have you played without paying a green's fee? There are many great courses around Prague and all require a green fee to play.
Public courses are available for play,(with a green's fee, of course) without a Green Card, but almost every course in the country will require a Card to play.

Hey LG, not a golfer myself, but my friend plays and swears by the Hostivar club: http://golfhostivar.cz/index.php?gid=599 I think its 700 czk/round (sorry don't know terminology).

In Vinohrady there are a couple outdoor/indoor courts, not very fancy but cheap and fucntional. A pretty nice place is at the back of Stromovka park in Prague 7, here is the link: http://www.cztenis.cz/adresar-klubu/71

Thanks all for your help.

Sektor,

I understand I have to pay greenfee. i meant that whether it is possible to get an annual greenfee without having to become a member and having to pay entrance fee.
Anybody played mstetice golf club?
thanks

LG,
If you like long fairways and tall grass, you will love Mstetice! LOL It's name is as difficult to pronounce as it is to play. Been there twice. As for an annual greenfee, you still need a playing card, (a Green Card), unless you play public courses. You may be able to work something out with a club if you are an American and can demonstrate knowledge of the game. Once you have the Green Card, you can play any course in Europe.
Good luck!

It would be better to just smash yourself in the head with your 7 iron. Golf in Prague and the Czech Republic in general is a horrible idea. You will never in your life find a snobbier group of crap golfers than here. Good luck, but my advice is stay where you are. This place is a nightmare.
