If they offer English speaking support, they should supply it. It has nothing to do with speaking Czech - dumb arse! |

Weird, my eurotel card didn't top up my credit as well, and I went througnh the same process, but the operator spoke great english, and solved my problem in about 1 minute. was there some sun spots or something that must have screwed up those trying to top up their credit? |

just go to t-mobile.cz > hit english, then contact, if you call from a t-mobile phone, which it seems you did :
from T-Mobile free of charge 4604 ( see # 1 )
it should have been free is the point
as for bad service. DUH, what did you expect? |

sorry hes right, if they offer a service, whether "free" or not, they should have it.
I'd switch companies post-haste.
Although when I was on T-Mobile, I never had any trouble, indeed, when I called they HAD an English speaker to help me out. |

You won't get much more help speaking Czech - just a shorter wait. The people they hire to work those lines aren't exactly network technicians - they have a database of possible problems in front of them, and if your question isn't listed, you're out of luck unless you happen to have a particularly experienced operator.
I work at Oskar, it's true - thus "(meekly)"
But, Oskar does have an online self care system that allows you to switch options on and off, check your balance and charges and do other fancy stuff. It is free, and it works - as there's no one around to misinterpret between you and the computer. I was abused by T-mobile for 3 years - I wouldn't have posted a pitch for my employer if I didn't think it was an real solution to your complaint. |

Oskar's customer service rocks. Examples:
I was able to buy a phone cheaply through Oskar by subscribing to a monthly payment plan - the other two operators would not let me do this, despite the fact that I've got my Zivnostensky List.
The guy who sold me my phone spoke English and was very nice. He spent a lot of time helping me choose the most suitable phone for me
Whenever I call their client centre, I get connected to a friendly English-speaking operator either immediately or after a very brief wait.
I wanted to cancel an MMS package that had come free with my phone. I went through the process of doing so online, but I wasn't 100% sure that I had done so properly (whenever I cancel, add or change a service, I get confirmation by SMS almost immediately - in this case I didn't). A day or so later while in the Cerny Most mall, I stopped by the Oskar kiosk and asked one of the sales reps to verify my cancellation. She checked my personal page and told me that everything was fine, I had cancelled the service. Well, that's that, thank you, have a nice day. About twenty minutes later I get a call from the same rep telling me that she had called the Oskar client centre just to make sure, and yes, the service was indeed cancelled. I was shocked that she had actually taken the time to do this extra little thing for me.
Recently a friend of mine, also an Oskar customer, forgot his phone on a plane. He had had the same number for many years, but was using prepaid cards, so he was worried that he wouldn't be able to keep his number. I told him to call Oskar's client centre and they'd sort it out. Well, not only did they let him keep his old number, they also offered him a huge discount on a new phone for having stayed with them for so long. The discount was so good that he paid less buying a Sony-Ericsson T-630 through Oskar than he would have paid in a bazaar.
Fuck T-Mobile and fuck Eurotel. They're overpriced and their sales reps make it clear that they hate their jobs (at least that's been my experience with them). Oskar indeed rocks! |

Two days later ...
My Czech partner gets one of the T _Mobile support team on the phone.
She expains the problem, and asks for a walk-through. After about 10 minutes (transfer to another line, etc) she gets someone who talks her through it. Sadly, it does not work.
"Ahh", says the operator, "YOUR FAULT, you are not waiting for one hour before you activate the code!"
"But it does not say that on your web site instruction page!", Explains my (Czech) partner. "How can it be MY fault?"
"You should Know this ......!
CLICK (Connection is finished - at their end)
What a load of shit this company is! |

Believe it or not, I don't work in sales ;-)
I know you can get an Oskar starter sim for 500 Kc, and most of the bazars will unblock your phone for you, no problem.
They're also offering these "Power up" things (no contract, with phone: http://oskar.cz/en/services/whatsnew.php#oskar1 ) |

But that EXACTLY why we LIKE Oskar, Sam.
I'll jump in: Tmobile english assistance over the phone sucks. I've had similar problems where they send me in circles and then disconnect. And i DO speak CZ, but if they offer in ENG they should provide. Or at least admit they do not. Now, my experience in the shops - has been great. Always very helpful - althought the 50kc surcharge for paying your bill there, while not bank-breaking, is annoying and out of line. I mean -= it's their shop. |

all mobile phone copmany are the same <<<PANTS>>> they all take take take and when it comes to sorting out your problem they just keep taking, the piss that is :-) (with the exception of the odd helpfull tech defo the minority)
To the individuals who work for these companies your just another hassel/customer they can make disapear by sending you around and around the famous call centre loop. After half an hour or so only the hardcore hassel/customer is remaining. Once wound up from the half hour or so wait the call centre team handle our angry shouts and grumbles with threats of hanging up the phone if your tone is not lowered the end result normaly being another trip around the mobile phone company loop.
Good luck people, no point in changing phone companies they are all the same, world wide i bet. |

...give the less-than-helpful people at T-imMobile a friendly lesson in proper service of the customer:
go into a T-Mobile shop-- the earlier in the day, the better...take ur czech-speaking friend along, if possible. If ur czech-speaking friend is not available, speak slowly & clearly...select simple words that they'll have a better chance in understanding...(try to) smile...be patient & friendly...they're just hard-working, underpaid students probably, they're not the people who set up a call-in system that doesn't work properly. State exactly what service(s) you'd like to activate, hand THEM ur mobile, and let THEM resolve the problem...don't leave the shop, give up, be asked to wait, don't allow them to service the customer behind you, etc. They'll realize that they can't or won't get rid of you until your problem is resolved. That's my advice...why is it that so many replies here are filled with so much ANGER...RESENTMENT...? Why all the unnecessary name-calling? Come on, people, we're ADULTS here...I'd be much happier reading here if fewer people stopped calling utter strangers arseholes & wankers and the like...any-who, good luck! |

its good advice. And to the jerk in 26, it doesnt matter: if they advertise that they give English-speaking service, they should give it. Not everyone is as fluent in English as no doubt you are. |

I have had my Oscar phone stolen twice in the last year, the first time Oscar give a free SIM but now they give me two options, pay 1150Kc for the privilege of keeping the same number, or else pay 500Kc and get a new SIM with a new number. Does anyone agree that 1150Kc for a SIM that costs them a few pennies (okay hellers) is a bit much? I won't stay with a company that rip off their customers like that.
By the way has anyone heard about the new regulation being introduced here that will allow us to switch between the three service providers and keep our numbers? That will be an improvement I think. |

T-mobile is as good as e-banka, worthless commies trying to rip you off |
