Howdy sss = uhm - sure, could help but why not browse this here site or others for info, and then ask us some specific questions.
Here's some important advice: bring hot sauce from outside the country. |

So bring foodstuff you enjoy with you. I think that means.
I'd suggest finding somewhere to live for when you arrive, if you know nobody here renting a room in a shared house gives you people to socialise with. And if within 10 days they turn out to be wanky over-earnest English teachers,by that stage you might of meet others you get on with and can rent a place yourself for 200 quid a month.
This site seems to have a lot of flat shares, pick a spot with good transport links, cos you don't want to be spending an hour to get anywhere. And don't start drinking in a pub that charges over 35 crowns a pint. |

Dunno, never saw it, just use it for my e-mail and stuff. Probably is tho...
Couple more questions for you:
How hard is it to learn czech if only know english?
Is there a good music scene in prague? I'm a guitarist/songwriter and would like to do something when i'm over.
Whats it like for getting jobs? Hopefully i'll be able to get a teaching position after the tefl course, but i wouldn't mind maybe getting a bar job or something as well just for the crack. |

Hey man,
Yup! Prague is quality. I've spent a wee bit of time there when I travelled europe. We were even playing some scottish folk music at a bar to make some cash. I'm also going to be doing the TEFL course over there, and also hope to stay on to work. I'm not sure what month yet, but I'll be flying out of edinburgh anyways. Keep in touch, maybe we could do some music whilst over there aswell? I play guitar, double bass and write some tunes as well. Check my stuff out at www.myspace.com/eggmeatman |

Hi, I am visiting Prague in September:
- looking for a flat or share
- some leads for teaching work
- some musicians for songwriting
Have been in in moscow Russia for 8 years, but fancy a change this year and have heard good things about Prague.
So, anybody want to put a poor immigrant in the right direction, please drop me a line: atmyself@yahoo.com

Do not use the housing that the TEFL courses will try to provide you with. They will rip you off, and make you pay about 400 Euros. Take Skin's advice and find yourself a flatshare before you come here, try www.expats.cz or look for one on this site. Buy several pairs of socks before you get here. I cannot seem to find a decent pair of socks in this city. And anon #9, I work for three language schools and they will definately be hiring in September, so email me for the info. I will help you get a job as well Sean if you can bring me back some Nyquil, Listerine, and Reeces peanutbutter cups when you get here! But, Prague has everything else to offer. |

In lieu of Listerine you can try 'Tantum Verde'. It'll burn the taste buds right off your tongue. No only that but the considerably high alcohol content will make you wobbly for hours.
Why, i just had a gargle and i can't evn typ strt |
