I am going to be moving to Europe from Australia in a few months. The job I do I can do anywhere in the world all I need is a computer and an internet connection. I work about one day out of a month so I have a lot of free time and a lot of money to spend too. I have family in Italy and am going to spend a few weeks there but I am considering moving to Prague so I had a few questions to ask about Prague in general and some more specific questions.

Here in Australia and in America people tend to be closed off from meeting new people. We are brought up with this ‘stranger danger’ type of mentality and it sticks with most people for their whole lives. Now I have never had much trouble meeting new people but I do know for certain that in Australia and America it is difficult to make new friends. When you say ‘Hi’ to someone they automatically assume you want something from them and they put barriers up.

1a)My first question is do Czech people have this same kind of flaw when it comes to meeting people or are they more friendly and open? I know you can say that every person is different but I mean on average is Czech social culture more open and friendly?

1b)Are Czech people happy to meet tourists? Are they more or less open talking to people from different countries?

Second question is about food, in Australia and America its all about processed foods. There are obesity and diabetes epidemics but nobody seems to care. In Italy I know the food is more organic and they eat less processed foods which in turn makes them healthier.

2)How is Czech food? are the Czech people heavily Dependant on processed foods?

Third question is about how sexually open Czech culture is. Australians and Americans tend to be prudish I know that in Italy women are more open sexually and women in particular are not shunned for showing their sexuality.

3)Is Czech culture prudish or liberated when it comes to sex?

The fourth question is about renting an apartment, in Sydney Australia $2k per week will buy you a nice two story apartment in the middle of the city.

4)How for will $500-$1,000 USD a week go in terms of renting an apartment in the city center?

The fifth question is about language.

5)Lets say I am walking down the street in Prague one weekend and decide to approach a group of young guys/girls that were born and raised in Prague. What are the chances that they would speak English?
