Strahov district

I'm backpacking through eastern europe, and saw that there is some very cheap accommodation in strahov university. I was wondering how long does it take to walk in to the centre(is Mala Strana park area quite a steep walk) from strahov and what is the area like.

Strahov is a student campus with the dorms of the czech technical univ. and it's a cool place. Mala strana is 10 min. downhill and you can even use the funicular to go downhill or uphill.

Be prepared to share toilets and bathrooms with the ragged and the poor, oh I forgot, you are a backpacker yourself!

If you want to avoid using shared toilets in Strahov, try block no. 8.
