U Mikuláše Dačického
This is a classic medieval Czech restaurant with quality food, good beer, and fair prices. Mikulase Dacickeho is the kind of restaurant to go to for a more formal dinner (that is, without the ‘formal’ prices), dates, or a special occasion. The spacious interior is full of heavy dark wood and wall paintings, giving it a genuine medieval atmosphere. The service is formal and friendly. This is a place to go if you want to experience a medieval restaurant, eat hearty Czech cuisine, try a new Czech beer, and not pay outrageous prices, which could easily happen in the center of Prague. They serve typical Czech and continental European cuisine, and beer from the Kutna Hora brewery Dacicky. Reservations are recommended, especially for weekends

Prague Tour Service
Terrible, inflexible customer service. Rude responses like the customer is doing the company a favor. Advise to find another tour service (there are many in Prague). They actually don't provide the tours, but are more like agents.

Hostel Klamovka
It is the worse place where I have stayed. I stayed there on November 14-16 2011. The receptionist do not know basic maths, they said a price, when we got there they over charge us 2 euros per person; when we paid she charged us even more by taking all the money and giving the change from the same money we gave them. We were supost to pay 10 euro per person, when we got there they said it was 13 euros per person, and wneh they receive the money they charge us like 16 euro per person per night. On top of that we reclaimed the money and they threaten us with a firearm. We just had to leave before we were hurt or even killed.

La Casa
This new Chef/Owner Restaurant has the feeling of the latest style of emerging cuisine. It is a rising star; small, casual, homey with a chef who showcases the best of the superb local produce on a regularly changing menu and most important at reasonable prices.

Restaurants like this are rebooting the reputation of the Prague restaurant scene. Pavel Matseushuk the Chef/Owner has captured the love of the neighborhood and his guests seem to be more like regular friends stopping by for their love of his food.

The night I was there, one couple from Moscow told me they had eaten there 3 out of their 5 nights in Prague! Another table was a group from Argentina and then at almost midnight a group of Czech filmmakers arrived ( after the official closing time) and Chef Pavel looking weary greeted them with a smile and said come on in I will make you something tasty. Definitely a Prague reboot!

Beauty Secrets
I have been a client of this beauty home (and yes it's not just a salon, but a very much home like place! ) for 3 years. And this is smth unique and rare to find anywhere(especially in Prague). The founder is an extremely professional, talented Brazilian lady Selma. She is an absolute perfectionist and has a truly passion for the beauty industry.Being her client means to have a personal beauty therapist. Beauty Secrets provide me with all the necessary services required to look healthy, pretty and sophisticated.Pedicure and manicure is done with the exceptional accuracy and taste (and what a range of nail polish colors they have!!!). I have always been bit critical reg Brazilian waxing. But the way it is done there - amazing, the sensation of absolutely perfect look and feeling - that's what I have after each waxing session. I have a sensitive skin and always are very demanding and careful when it comes to the face. Facial procedures are done with extreme awareness of the problem, cosmetics and tools used only from the trusted brands, and not commercial ones.

Everything is done at the same place, ***just make sure you book your time in advance!***And all of mentioned has absolutely fair prices + always some free tips or testers. The environment and personalized approach to every client - this are the values of Beauty Secrets, which I personally always receive. Veronika

ITTP Prague - International Tefl Tesol Program
I completed my ITTP Prague training today. Of the 12 who took the course, 10 of us have teaching work already lined up. 8 of us are from the States and the remaining 4 from the UK, Singapore and Belgium.

Originally I planned to take the course in Spain but having realized that it is next to impossible to actually work there legally, and realizing that getting work in Eastern Europe would be MUCH easier, I settled on Prague as my destination.

The only negative of my Prague experience is that Czech people don't like to smile. C'mon people :)

This course was one of the best investments I have made in my life and really saved me because back home I was virtually doing nothing and stuck in a circle.

TEFL has opened up the world to me and has enabled me to travel and pay my way.

I have never taken a TEFL course before so I can't compare but as experiences go I had a fabulous 4 weeks and having a well paid teaching job lined up already is more than I expected really.

ITTP actively help you with getting a job and also with visa support.

A recommended company, recommended course, and recommended city!

ITTP Prague - International Tefl Tesol Program
Back in the US, waiting for my connecting flight. Thinking back over my last year spent in Prague teaching English and wondering if I shouldn't have stayed longer.

You know, a period of reflection.

I couldn't stay for ever I guess.

Have a bit of time and funnily enough remembering what Neville said that in business one happy client will recommend a business to one or two friends and one unhappy client will tell a hundred plus people. So here is my ITTP TEFL Prague review.

My whole TEFL course package experience with ITTP TEFL Prague was through and through excellent and I'm happy to write this review as I wait for my delayed flight.

I'll go through all the main positives and then list the one negative which gives the overall score a 4 and not a 5.

1. Communication.

Excellent. Really. All emails answered within hours (we joked that Neville must have a computer strapped to his internal organs or something). Secure credit card payment area and again payment was confirmed within hours. This reinforced my opinion of the company.

2. Training.

Excellent. Again really excellent. We were lucky to be trained up by incredible professionals. The course is very very well organized and like others I enjoyed the variety of teaching practice instead of just teaching one type of student. Teaching from day one was nerve wracking but I believe made us stronger teachers earlier in the course.

3. Our Group.

I will miss you guys for always. You rocked! I just loved the small group size because it gave more trainer individual attention and meant we formed a strong compact group of friends.

4. Job Guidance.

Did what it said on the packet. I along with the rest of the class began our first paid classes a week or two after that last day of testing all those months ago.

5. Continued Support.

Yep, it's true. They do remember you. I don't like to bother them too much but once in a while I have a question which I can't seem to find anyone else can answer and they (ITTP) usually respond within a day or two with a really helpful reply. Sure, a bit slower than when I was signing up for the course or when I was on the course but I figure that is still pretty God damn good. Plus, they gave me a stunning reference just recently which will kick butt in any type of job application.

6. TEFL Power. I can travel anywhere I want now and teach. What an investment!

7. They have been around for donkey's years and this was important to me because I didn't want to take a gamble on a new outfit which might go belly up before I even arrived for the course.

8. The Negative. The accommodation really let them down. Yep, the location was really good. It had pretty much everything we needed. Was secure. But it was definitely frayed around the edges and a little over priced. OK, I know you would be hard pressed to find anything else in the area for the same price per person but combined between all of us it was pricey. Word on the TEFL grapevine is that they have found new offices and housing for the Summer 2012 courses so that will definitely improve the overall service and this leads me onto my last point of number 8.

8. They listen. They give a crap. They will take good care of you if you are good to them. They are pretty much a family business and I understand they are involved in local charity work.

So, overall I give ITTP TEFL Prague a recommended 4 out of 5.

Kimchi - Sushi & Grill
Indeed, Kimchi did not fail to disappoint (see my earlier review for Restaurace Kimchi, which was a former location for this restaurant, now closed)! The owners still greeted with the same warmth and actually remembered me. So nice to get that personal welcome, it's so rare to get that from commercial restaurants these days. The new location on Belohorska is a lot cozier and chic than the previous, and is now complete with sushi additions to their amazing Korean offerings! My favorite still stands as dolsot bibimbap, though it's a toss-up between that and samgyupsal and ssam - not to mention their heavenly kimchi that comes as a side dish. Kimchi is where the restaurant actually gets its name, because Mrs. Nam's kimchi is just that awesome - it should really deserve status as a main course by itself (with water and rice as the sides, lol). Try their sushi offerings for lunch delivery as well, it's quite good. (What, sushi delivered to my door?! Yep, there I said it.) As you can tell, I am a fanatic. If you're a foodie like me, you'll fall for this place as well.

At Your Home Personal Trainer
I've been working out with Heinz for about 5 years. His regimen is scientifically sound. The nutritional advice is spot on. But most importantly, the simple fact that he shows up here at our house 3 days a week makes all the difference between keeping active and skipping work-outs and eating crap. I'd recommend Heinz to anyone who's serious about getting into shape and worried that they won't have the discipline to get to the gym regularly or stick to their nutritional plan.

At Your Home Personal Trainer
When we started, I was looking for a nutritionist and a physio for my leg-back from a recommendation of a doctor.

So definitely I accepted the high cost towards the benefit.

I should say that Heinz is highly skilled and professional and his economical requirement well grounded. Not only is my leg and back problem totally gone, but my activity and fitness level has greatly improved. Thanks to his exercises, I was even able to greatly improve the distance on my golf swing. I highly recommend him.

At Your Home Personal Trainer
I have been a client of Heinz at praguefitness. com. It has been a major life changing experience. Not only did I lose weight and tone up quite a bit, but after each workout I felt totally refreshed and energized. I have a very high stressed profession, and I always felt completely renewed after each workout when he came to my home. He also entirely

rehabilitated my serious back and knee problems. I highly recommend him.

Ska, punk, rockabilly, reggae, dub, world music, hardcore, alternative hip-hop, electronic and progressive projects, funky, soul and others dominate in terms of live music. From electronic music you can meet with drum’n’bass, jungle, breakbeat, dub, dubstep, bassline, tekno, techno, house, electro, psytrance, glitch, brecore and many other music genres.

Besides music parties and concerts you can find here debates, lectures, travelers’ confabs, exhibitions, theatre and movie screenings. The entrance is often free or at a reasonable price.

The club arose from DIY principles and that’s why you can explore incredible interior and exterior pieces created by František Chmelík and his team. The pieces, such as furnishings and exterior gallery, are made out of iron waste, wood or ceramics. You can find here also a café offering quality coffee and tea, wines, cocktails, something to munch on and a free wi-fi. The café is open daily from 2pm and on warm days (from spring to fall) there is an open garden as well. Two music halls aren’t open until the evening (one opens at 6pm the other one at 8pm) and they’re open till early morning (from Sundays to Thursdays at least until 4am, on Fridays, Saturdays and days

before holidays we’re open at least until 6am).

The Pind
I doubt all the rating they do themselves. I am new to Prague and from India. I was trying out most of the Indian restaurants in Prague. And i was surprised to see such 5star rating and tried last Saturday in pind. It was really disappointing food. Chana masala without any spices.. was feeling like just eating a canned chick pee. Garlic nan was without any garlic flavor. not so authentic Indian food as they claim

Vecar
Hello

I am a lawyer from Australia. Yesterday I rented a car from Vecar. And yes it was a bit of a shock when I found the business was operated from a grimy little apartment near Dajvicka Station.

However, I do not agree with the above reviews. I read the contract and discussed with them things like liability for accidents.

They are Czech people who operate their own business in competition with Europcar Avis etc. A difficult thing.

Yes they have some suspicion of people and seek to protect themselves. In the car hire business this is understandable because they rent a car worth 400,000 Crowns for a few thousand crowns. They stand to lose a lot.

My experience was great. My beautiful partner wanted to go to Karolovy Vary on late notice - no other cars were available. I rang Vecar and they had an automatic car for me and assured me it was a good car and nearly new and this was indeed the case. ¨

I arrived to the apartment and went through many things with them. The price was fantastic 1600 crowns for the day. No km charge until over 400km which is great. The document showing marks on the car was accurate and the car was clean and realiable. ¨

We had an early flight the next morning and they had told me that 7pm was the latest I could return the car. I was running a bit late and called them just on 7 and said I was 15mins away and they said it was no problem - in fact I think i was 25mins later.

I say they are not dodgy or anything. Perhaps these reviews are from competition. I am a real person from Australia and I say support the Czech small business.

Thanks Vecar for helping me please my sweet lady with a visit to Karlovy Vary.

Dilli-Delhi
I thought that my meal was reasonably priced however I found my food to be very dry. In fact when I reheated the second half later on in the day, I added some extra things in to make it wetter. More sauce was definitely required. I did wonder if I wasn't eating their left overs from the day before...I'm going to try again with another dish and see if it's better this time..
