Festival of Iranian Films

The fifth annual Iranian Film Festival will kick off on Wednesday, January 13th in various cinemas across Prague.

Iran has a long, rich history of cinema which most people in the West know little about. The festival aims to promote the best in Iranian cinema through screenings of feature films and documentaries, competitions, and other special events.

This year, festival-goers can look forward to A Very Ordinary Citizen, a Czech-Iranian co-production directed by Majid Barzegar, Dingomaro, a documentary about a successful musician named Hamid Said from the province of Hormozgan, and Manuscripts Don’t Burn, a drama about the Iranian secret service and a winner at Cannes last year.

There will also be a special night of Afghan films as well.

For a full program, please visit the festival’s website.
