Prague Opens New Expat Centre on Jungmannova Street.

Joining various other cities throughout the EU, Prague has finally opened its own Expat Centre.

Foreigners in Prague who have decided to plan a future living here now have more support to help make the adaptation a bit easier.

The Expat Centre, which opened last week on Jungmannova Street with a gala event, will be a source of valuable information, contacts, educational events, consultations and assistance as well as a place to meet and exchange experiences and ideas with other foreigners who’ve already made a life in this beautiful city.

If you’ve been living in Prague for any amount of time, you’ve likely already noticed that it’s often easier to find an English speaker working at a McDonald’s than in a city or government office… a situation that will be markedly improved now that the Expat Centre is open.

The best part is that all of the services will be offered for free.

At the opening, Vit Šimral, City Counselor for Prague said, “Probably anyone who has ever studied or worked abroad knows how difficult the first steps in an unfamiliar environment are and how valuable any help is. That´s why there are Expat centres. I am very happy that Prague now has one of its own. Let this unique project be a friendly guide and support that will make foreigners feel at home.”
