Kris Kristofferson, actor, composer and a living legend of American country music above all is giving a gig on in the Congress Hall in Prague on 29th November 2012. “Kris Kristofferson belongs to the very top of country music, together with Johny Cash or Willie Nelson. You can be looking forward to his legendary hits as “Me and Bobby McGee”, “For the Good Times”, “Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down”, or “Help Me Make It Through the Night”, Lenka Muráriková from the producing agency Charm Music stated.
The native of Texas, USA, could have been a football player, a boxer, a barkeeper or a professor at West Point academy. During his studies in Oxford, England, Kristofferson tried to build up his career as a rock-and-roll singer nicknamed Kris Carson. In 1960, he left school to get married and start his service in the army, where he spent five years on the position of a helicopter pilot. During the service, he started performing in army clubs and NATO military
bases, composing new songs continuously.
Kris met Johnny Cash in 1965. Under the impression of it, he abandoned the position of English language professor at West Point Academy, but not sooner than 1968 he finally experienced success when signing his first professional contract. During the time, he has become renowned and admired country music star. Later he even started a film career, composed many movie trailers (Trouble in mind) and film music (Songwriter). He was nominated for the Oscar award thanks to Songwriter music and finally, he was awarded the Golden Globe for the A Star Is Born, where he starred together with Barbra Streisand.
His new album will be released in Europe on Nov 5 and the title is FEELING MORTAL. You can have a taste from it here.
