The Rasmus to play Lucerna

Finnish rock band is coming to Prague with the new album

The Rasmus will be in Prague with new material. It has been five years since the band's last album, and the rockers from Finland have broken the silence. They will be at Lucerna Music Bar on Nov. 15 to support their upcoming album Dark Matters, due to drop at the end of September.

Apart from the new material, the band should play their old famous hits, such as “No Fear,” “Sail Away,” “In the Shadows,” “Guilty” and “First Day of My Life.”

The Rasmus has been to Prague three time already, in 2005 at Roxy, 2009 at Folimanka and 2012 at MeetFactory.

Dark Matters is the band's ninth album and will have 10 songs, including the single “Paradise,” which came out in March.

The band is already looking to the future and they say they feel inspired. “If everything goes well, we’d love to continue and prepare for the next creative things in music together,” the band told music website Wolf in a Suit.

The Rasmus is considered one of the most successful Finnish bands. It formed in 1994 in Helsinki, when the members were still in school. Since then the Rasmus has sold 4 million albums worldwide, and garnered numerous musical awards including Best Nordic Act in the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards.

The band's big breakthrough came with their fifth studio album Dead Letters, which came out in 2003 and sold 1.7 million copies.

Their sound is often referred to as Gothic rock but it can also be described as dark rock, alternative rock, or symphonic rock.

Within the framework of the Dark Matters Tour 2017, the Rasmus will visit many countries, including Germany, Poland, Austria, France, UK and Russia.
