Ozzy Osbourne coming to Prague in 2018

The singer is on his last world tour; Hollywood Vampires open the show

Black Sabbath may have retired, but lead singer Ozzy Osbourne is going on one more world tour as a solo artist. He will be in Prague at Letiště Letňany on June 13, 2018.

Tickets go on sale to Live Nation club members on Nov. 7 at 9 am. Tickets are on sale to the general public Nov. 9 at 9 am.

Ozzy Osbourne is celebrating 50 years in show business. He began with Black Sabbath in 1968, and was a solo artist from most of the 1980s and 1990s, getting back together with Black Sabbath periodically from 1997 to up until the band ended its final tour in March 2017. The band hasn't ruled out ever performing again but is unlikely to tour.

For now, all that is definite is that Ozzy will be hitting the road.

Osbourne says that this world tour will be his last. “People are still asking me when I'm going to retire,” he said. “This is going to be my last world tour, but I cannot say I will not come back here and there.”

The tour will begin in Mexico and go through South America, before starting a European leg in Moscow. After Europe, the tour will go to North America.

Osbourne also has not disclosed if there will be new material. His last new solo album was Scream in 2010, followed in 2014 by a compilation album called Memoirs of a Madman. But he has a half-century of songs to chose from, so there should be some surprises.

While Osbourne is most widely known for his hits with early Black Sabbath, he has also has a number of his own including “Crazy Train,” “Mama, I'm Coming Home” and “Changes.”

He is regarded as the Godfather of Heavy Metal since Black Sabbath basically invented the genre as we now know it.

His total album sales counting Black Sabbath and his solo work is over 100 million. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath and is in the UK Music Hall of Fame as a solo artist and as a band member.

He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and another in his hometown on the Birmingham Walk of Stars. Other awards include a Grammy in 1994 and a Godlike Genius award in 2004 at the NME Awards in London.
He found a new audience on MTV in the early 2000s when he appeared as himself in the reality show The Osbournes, along with several family members.
The opening act for the Prague show is Hollywood Vampires, a supergroup consisting of vocalist Alice Cooper, guitarist Joe Perry of Aerosmith and actor Johnny Depp, also on guitar. They tour with additional musicians from other top bands and in particular do covers of rock stars who have passed away.
