Cannafest has relocated to Letňany

The largest trade show for cannabis should be bigger than last year

Cannafest 2017, the largest international trade show of cannabis and medical herbs, will take place Nov. 10 to 12 at PVA Expo Praha in Letňany. For technical reasons, the expo has been moved from Výstaviště in Holešovice, where it was originally scheduled.

Visitors can meet with exhibitors from all around the world and see what they have to offer. There will be cultivation technology, fertilizers, seeds, smoking accessories and vaporizers on display and for sale. There will also be hemp-based cosmetic products, clothing items, and hemp food.

During Cannafest, visitors can find entertainment in various special zones

“Last year we managed to beat the record with 30,193 visitors, and I am convinced that this year we will break it again,” Cannafest director Lukáš Běhal said in a press release.

There were 252 exhibitors from 25 countries last year. This year's exhibition area will expand by another 3,000 square meter and will total 16,500 sqm.

“We are very pleased that more and more people from the public and experts are interested in hemp. With the growing number of visitors, of course, organizational demands are on the rise. We are trying to do our best to make everybody comes to the expo,” Běhal said.

There is a program for relaxation and entertainment with a cinema, a series of workshops and exhibitions, an outdoor chillout tent, graffiti competitions and a photo corner. New this year is the Cannafest Free Zone, where people can enjoy a skateboarding show and a stage where several bands and DJs will perform. The lineup includes DJ Traffic, DJ Orion and Vladimir 518, and bands like PSH and Laco Deczi with Celula NY.

The chillout zone also will have DJs playing electronic music, hip-hop, funk, and reggae. Baltazar, Raidem and Babe LN from the Prague-based Radio 1 are on the schedule.

The Cannafest Stage will have various competitions, presentations and entertainment ranging from quizzes to juggling to a talk on 3D printing with hemp plastic.

There will also be food trucks, a cocktail bar, and a lounge to help people explore vaporizing as an alternative to smoking.

A reading room will offer the latest in books and magazines related to hemp and cannabis.
The cinema will show documentaries and topical films about cannabis, with some of the films in English. Most, however, are in Czech.

On Friday and Saturday, there will be afterparties in Cross Club, Palác Akropolis, Centrála and Mayapur pokojíček.
